NIST: quantum-vulnerable algorithms deprecated after 2030
NIST's transition plan deprecates RSA and elliptic-curve algorithms at 112-bit security after 2030 and disallows all quantum-vulnerable public-key algorithms after 2035. The post-quantum standards FIPS 203, 204 and 205 were published in August 2024. US federal systems and their suppliers follow this timeline, and it is becoming the reference for vendors worldwide.
