Maritime International Law

Paris MoU and Tokyo MOU port State control officers run a joint Concentrated Inspection Campaign on the securing of cargo units and cargo transport units from 1 September to 30 November 2026. During routine inspections they apply a questionnaire on compliance with SOLAS loading, stowage and securing requirements and the Cargo Securing Manual. Deficiencies can lead to detention. The 2025 campaign covered ballast water management.
