IACS UR E26/E27: cyber resilience rules for new ships

Apply to ships contracted on or after 1 July 2024 · IACS UR E26 Rev.1 and UR E27 Rev.1 · IACS (International Association of Classification Societies)

Maritime International Standard or protocol

UR E26 sets minimum cyber resilience requirements for the ship as a whole: asset inventory, network segmentation, access control, incident response and recovery. UR E27 sets requirements for on-board systems and equipment delivered by suppliers. Class societies apply both to ships contracted for construction on or after 1 July 2024; the original 1 January 2024 date was withdrawn. Existing ships are outside the URs, but newbuild contracts and vendor deliveries are inside.
