Maritime International Standard or protocol

The revised ECDIS performance standards allow S-100 based ECDIS from 1 January 2026. These systems read both today's S-57 ENCs and the new S-101 ENCs plus other S-100 products such as bathymetry (S-102), water levels (S-104) and navigational warnings (S-124). Installation is voluntary until 1 January 2029, when all new ECDIS installations must meet the revised standard. Existing S-57 ECDIS can stay in service.
