Maritime International Standard or protocol

From 1 January 2029 every new ECDIS installed on board has to meet the revised performance standards based on IHO S-100, including support for S-101 ENCs. The transition period that started on 1 January 2026 ends. ECDIS installed before that date under the previous standard may continue in use, but chart services will move to S-101 over time.
