Since 1 August 2025 internet-connected radio equipment sold in the EU must protect the network, protect personal data and privacy, and protect against fraud. Wi-Fi and cellular devices, IoT sensors, gateways and wearables are covered. The EN 18031 standards give a route to presumption of conformity, with some gaps that need a notified body.
