Industrial Emissions Directive 2.0: national laws in place
The revised Industrial Emissions Directive had to be transposed by 1 July 2026. It widens the permit regime to more installations, requires environmental management systems with transformation plans for installations covered, tightens the use of best available techniques, and adds an industrial emissions portal. Existing permits are updated over the following years.
