FuelEU: shore power for container and passenger ships at berth
From 1 January 2030 container ships and passenger ships above 5,000 GT moored at the quayside in TEN-T ports covered by AFIR must connect to onshore power supply, or use a zero-emission technology, for all electricity needs at berth, with limited exceptions such as stays under two hours. From 1 January 2035 the same applies in any EU port where OPS is available. Ports must have the shore-side installations ready under AFIR by the same date.
