eIDAS 2: EU Digital Identity Wallets offered to citizens
Under eIDAS 2 each Member State must offer at least one EU Digital Identity Wallet within 24 months of the implementing acts adopted in late 2024, which lands at the end of 2026. Later, certain relying parties (banks, telecoms, large platforms, and services required by law to use strong identification) must accept the wallet. For most companies this is a future login and signing option, not an obligation yet.
