The recast Energy Efficiency Directive ties audit duties to consumption instead of company size. Enterprises with an average annual consumption above 10 TJ over the previous three years must carry out an energy audit by 11 October 2026 and every four years after. Those above 85 TJ must run a certified energy management system by 11 October 2027 instead. The national law sets the details.
