Since 12 September 2025 users of connected products and related services have a right to the data those products generate, and can ask the manufacturer to share it with a third party of their choice. It also limits unfair contract terms on data and gives cloud customers the right to switch provider. Anyone who sells machines, sensors, vessel equipment or telematics with a data feed is affected.
