From 11 December 2027 products with digital elements placed on the EU market must meet the essential cybersecurity requirements, carry a CE marking based on a conformity assessment, ship with security updates for their support period, and come with documentation and an SBOM. This covers routers, controllers, sensors, onboard equipment and the software in them. Importers and distributors have their own checks to do.
